SCRABBLE Premium for iPad App Reviews

Love my Scrabble. Usually play against the computer three or more times a day. Enjoy the teacher feature. Seeing and learning new vocabulary is fun. No glitches with anything. I use the app on my iPad and iPhone. Been a Scrabble fan as long as I can remember and this app is super.

I loved this program and played it for years but the latest update will have you skip a turn if you swipe to look up a word and swipe back. I was careful tonight to use the top part of the screen with the same result. Very frustrating- cant believe it got passed testing. On back burner until fix.

Functions smoothly. Great app.

I havent lost in the advanced level for a long time!

As an avid Scrabble player, this is probably one of my most used apps, but in my opinion improvements are needed. The chat screen has always been among the most frustrating parts of this app for me. Since 5/18 update though it has gotten worse, now it only allows around 20 characters per entry. It would also be nice to be able to correct errors without having to backspace/delete and start over.

Well I dont have to download the app anymore & can close it out without having difficulty opening it. But my name is coming up as L with no photo from Origin; the FB photo is fine. There are two other bugs that need fixing: 1. I cannot complete a simple sentence to my opponent and see all that I wrote.....and 2. The players on Origin words are most often not showing in the center of the board thereby preventing from playing and I have to pass through most of the the beginning of each game. I wrote an earlier review about my frustrations pertaining to the March 21st update. It was obviously too lengthy or my anger was not accepted. This time EA you get only one star and you are not worthy of that for all that you have put scrabble players like myself through since the erroneous update. I have delete and reinstall my purchased scrabble game every single day in order to play because it just wont load properly to Origin or FB. I have been in touch with Apple to request a refund not because of the money but Ill be darned if I pay for something that gives me that much pain. Fix this mess or put it back to the earlier version! Thank you with all my heart. L. Glidden I had this working for 2 days; I deleted my purchased app then loaded the free one, connected to both FB & Origin. Left the game open then held down the home button the the shutting down button at the same time, when my iPad booted up it was still there. I then loaded the paid app and did the same thing and it worked. I thought this was great so I didnt shut down the app when I shut down my iPad for the night and it loaded the app was still there when I turned on my iPad the next day. I thought I had found part of the solution but unfortunately when I closed down my iPad at the end of the day it went back to the same old, same old.....where I have to delete and reload the app each day in order to play and leave it running in the background. I talked extensively with Apple about this and it is an effort in futility to even call them again unless I request a refund but I hate the ads so will not use the free one. I still feel that we are being ignored by EA in not getting a fix for this. Sad to take away the fun of playing a great game. Laura Glidden

2017-May 22. - Still a very annoying app that crashes often, forcing me to remove then re-install three times in the last we week. Then forcing me to go thru all the hoops to restart a game as tho Id never played before. Several other minor glitches as well - surely this cant be that difficult to fix! Very annoying app. I have paid for this app twice - about a year apart and had to remove each time due to issues that couldnt be resolved otherwise I refuse to pay a third time-the help line is useless.

Newest update... In chat, I can only type a few characters, and it freezes. I have to click on send, type a few more characters, send again. Awful! Previous so-called updates: All user names of people Ive been playing with for months are gone, replaced by "Guest####." I have to check every chat in every game to try to locate them. No more avatars, just "G" and "Y". I cant search for friends. It seems that with every update, I lose a function. Its getting worse and worse. So many features I had when I first purchased this game are gone.

Who is minding the Store ? It is easy to demand payment for an App that is clearly not working after each Update . Can someone not get this right ???? Has not worked since Mar21 ... refund time ????? So now everything is supposedly fixed ? Not so .. still cannot connect to Origin . I now rate this game -0.

relentless, repeated and annoying problems with connectivity and functionality. i love scrabble, but i hate this app.

Charged me the first time, then old version did not update to new iPad. Charged me all over again. Only this time far more expensive.

Ive lost three games in the past two days because of the app freezing. I havent had an app freeze in years. Welcome to 2007!

Just had knee and tib/fib repair surgery and Im laid up and so sick of watching TV! This is a fun option for keeping my brain from turning to jello, I can put it down and pick up where I left off. I have the real board game but its really hard for me to actually do anything right now (cant sit at the table), so this is great. Play by myself or my husband and I pass back and forth. I have a 2 year old iPad Air 2 and have had zero glitches.

Contrary to what other users are saying, the current update (5.19.0) actually fixed the connectivity issues I had been experiencing since mid-March. Yay! The only glitch now is that the notify feature doesnt work until after I have checked into the game, so I cant tell if its my turn to play from the home screen. I appreciate the fact that the app uses the "Official Scrabble Players Dictionary" which is the authority for competitive tournaments.

When starting a new game by choosing a "Random" opponent, you no longer can see who made the opening play. Previously you would see the name, and/or Guest #, as the stats on the guest before accepting the game by playing. This feature allows playing games with others who share your competitive level. And also get a clue, by checking the highest play...sometimes the word may indicate someone who may be using a word finder.

I enjoy the scrabble game, particularly the ability to check with the teacher any moves which may have provided more points, the statistics, and the availability of music if you wish. It is a good learning tool. I would like to be able to play this game on small devices with individuals in different countries.

Scrabble, do you read these comments? Since update, my Origin games are gone. I have to load Scrabble with ads, which they have not yet ruined, to play Origin games. Now even Facebook games are gone. So bad I actually considered playing Words With Friends..... Recent update was no fix.

The chat mutes automatically after I type something to my opponent. Then it doesnt alert me if he responds. Plus the showing of each plays components is sooo slow. Im not sure how this was thought to be an improved version. Update May 2017--the chat is still awful. Many times I cant see what I typed after I pressed send. Also, not many characters are allowed maybe one line. Further now I cannot longer correct what I have typed and the only option is to press the send button. Instead of getting better, The chat has gotten much worse over time. Words with friends can do it, what is wrong with scrabble?

When the other player uses a word I dont know, I would love to be able read a definition of the word in the moment.

Slick UI and many play options. Questionable dictionary. I wish one could select to start in random order rather than always start first. Computer usually scores big on the letters you play first.
