SCRABBLE Premium for iPad App Reviews

In the old days, you could use your iPhone as a tile rack, instead of the current pass-and-play nonsense. Why must one use Facebook for that functionality now? A huge step backward, and an invasion of privacy. Scrabble is a classic game, so this could be a killer app. Alas, its mediocre at best -- EA doesnt seem to care much about it -- and although we love the original scrabble game, we never use this app. Inexcusable!

Nudging and force forfeiting tales too long when it doesnt need to. It should only take 6 or 12 HRS to nudge the other player and, at the very most, 12 HRS to force forfeit that player. Itd also be nice if the nudging and force forfeiting features always worked. Ive noticed the more games youre playing, the less likely these features are going to consistently work. Therefore, I never play more than 15 games at one time. This ensures Im always able to nudge and force forfeit the other player.

GIVE ME BACK THE GAME I PAID FOR. Scrabble hasnt been good since version 1.15.73, thats the last time local play via WI-FI and Bluetooth was enabled. After that version, you disabled them. FIX WHAT YOU BROKE!!! FIX IT NOW!!! A year later and you still havent fixed what you broke. Stop being jerks and fix it!!!

Just did an update and still not working at all. Maybe its time to move on to another game. Well its 6/4/17 and still no Friends Lists which means I cannot start a game. I cannot do a friend search and there are no past games. So I cannot play this game. What is their problem. First my Friends list doesnt load anymore. Had to go to a finished game and do Rematch to start a game but now finished games are gone. I have to constantly sign in, not that it fixes anything. Theres always issues with this game.

Trouble with nudging and force forfeiting

As everyone here will say, we love Scrabble. I wish we were arguing about the finer points of the game, such as not allowing the taking back of a word, and including challenges just like the real game. But instead were watching a beloved game sink under the weight of bad code and coders. The chat box has always been a pain to use. Now its unusable. (Type those two sentences into the chat bot and youll see. And youll also see that not a single test engineer typed a full sentence into the chat box.) Next never-has-worked topic: "Notifications" I suggest you look up that word. Its a clue to what is supposed to happen. Lastly, Consistency. I must give credit where due. Each upgrade consistently introduces some new bug or changes the behavior of an existing one in new and interesting ways. And in that sense, I suppose in some small way you have captured the essence of how cryptic this game is intended to be.

One month before the recent update in March of 2015 my IPad Air was freezing while playing and now even after the update it still freezes. Very frustrating. Dont buy it. 8/19/15 still freezes. Now it wont let me start new games. It keeps telling me I have reach my quota of games and I only have 20 games that Im playing when you can have a total of 50. DONT BUY IT! 10/15/16 Did the last up date and it freezes worst than before. Its slow in submitting words, when opening the next table it puts in the last word played, then puts all the words on the table, then puts the last word played again. And it takes more than 30 seconds to submit the word. The update made it the worst it has ever been. I wish I could go back and reverse the update. Dont buy it!!!!!! 6/4/17 Getting better. It doesnt freeze now. Still cant nudge. Letters are sometimes missing from board and can continue game. End up forfeiting game.

There have been several times when the board on the iPad misses a word entirely and just leaves a gap there. Makes it impossible to play

I love Scrabble. But this app, which I paid for($14?) has constant problems. So much so a lot of my fellow scrabble lovers have quit playing. It really needs to be fixed.

I wish scrabble classic could be brought back. I dont like the bright colored board.

I enjoy playing Scrabble with my mom who lives several hundred miles away. Wish they would trash their emojis.

I have deleted all of my previous concerns since the Scrabble is now opening okay on both FB & Origin and I no longer have to delete and re-install each time I close it and open it again. I no longer play in Origin because my name does not come up correctly and my opponents have agreed we would only play through FB. There is only one issue left that needs attention and that is I cannot see my complete chats until I have finished typing, basically see the first 3 words and then cannot see what I am typing until I send the message which at times, show errors in my typing that I could have correct during the course of typing the message. Hopefully this can be fixed very soon. Thank you. Laura Rose Glidden

I love playing scrabble on the iPad and do it nearly every day with several people. I just returned from a trip to Scotland and find that even though wifi is available, it simply doesnt want to load. So I had to take a break from playing which is OK too. Otherwise a great game.

Horrible software.

June 3, 2017: still waiting for the IPad bug fix, wont download. Interesting that Scrabble free works with all the ads but the paid version does not. May 29,2017: Deleted app to reinstall because it has not loaded for weeks. Well, now it wont reinstall or let me delete the partially loaded app. Problem with Scrabble, AGAIN! Wont load! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it wont complete download. Cant you repair or fix bugs before offering updates? Scrabble has more problems logging in, dropping games and connectivity issues with FB and the Internet the any app, especially one that cost (others were $.99-1.99) as much as Scrabble. Sick of the constant problems! Going back to the actually board game!!!

This version has been problematic for more than a month. Ive had to reload it thru my Apps more than once and its still a pain. Cant see what Im writing in chat. No longer seem to be able to add new friends or delete those no longer playing. Dislike being entirely closed out of games or not being connected. HELP!! This is not how it worked a few years ago. Every "fix" or upgrade has made things worse.

Scrabble is a tremendous game for the brain and more importantly good fun!

Havent been able to load my on-line games since May 29th. Can only play against the computer, I had 3 games going. Hope you can fix this soon. Im having withdrawal pains?

I play against computer and never tire of this version.
