SCRABBLE Premium for iPad App Reviews

Finally, the awful connectivity issues seem to be fixed and stable with the latest release. I can play (and resume) games with other players through Facebook without all the weird behaviors, having to reinstall, etc. Also, the Bluetooth volume problem seems to have been fixed (where playing Scrabble in the car greatly diminished the volume of anything else playing, like music.) However, the latest update seems to have introduced an annoying in-game messaging bug. The input field is very small, and now when you type a message to another player, your message does not auto scroll, so you cannot see what you are typing beyond the size of the input field (which is about three words long.) You only see your entire message once you hit send, thereby not allowing you to make any text edits, etc. Its also annoying that the messaging function does not access the iOS autocorrect feature, so typing "theyre" does not produce "theyre" -- lazy of me, I know, but hunting for the apostrophe key on my phone is a pain!

Liked this game until the latest update, which has killed my battery life on my IPad. Have used the battery section in settings and watched Scrabble percentage of battery usage increase, even over and above Facebook, while the app wasnt even open!! Obviously it is doing something in the background that I can neither see nor stop. Please fix this. For now, I have deleted the app.

I am a loyal player since 2011. Back then I rated it 5 stars. It just gets worse with each update. Now I have ads in the premium app. Whats up with that? Cant stand to play more than one session a day now, its just too much hassle. EA, here is a list of what needs fixing: Restore the default to ALL CAPS in the dictionary. There are no lowercase letters in scrabble. Add a notes feature so we can remember what play we wanted to make two days later. How about some head-to-head stats? Allow for spot editing in the middle of a word in the dictionary Allow viewing of the moves list and chat after the game is over, at least for the last few completed games. Allow leaving the game after the third move. Why force us to make the first move against an unknown opponent, then finish out the whole game after learning its a complete mismatch? Calculate draws as neutral in the win % stat, not as losses. ENOUGH with the useless cosmetic, buggy "updates". We are scrabble players, we just want a simple app that WORKS. PLEASE just devote some resources to fixing this app.

I just lost all my games and history. Reloaded, now all games frozen.

After a couple of months with an awful update, Im happy to say that my favorite game is back! I play this game more than any other. Love having the dictionary included and the ability to play against the computer.

The newest update (5.19.0) fixed the connectivity issues I had been experiencing since mid-March. But new problems have appeared. Previously played words randomly disappear from the board --rendering the game unplayable. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app doesnt even fix this problem. The notify feature still doesnt work until after I have checked into the game, so I cant tell if its my turn to play from the home screen. I do appreciate the fact that the app uses the "Official Scrabble Players Dictionary" which is the authority for competitive tournaments.

May 29 & 30 Cannot load my on-line games. Can only play against the computer, I have 3 games going. Hope you can fix this soon.

I have been playing Scrabble with a friend for several years on my phone and iPad. It has been FULL of problems but we keep playing because it is a way to stay in touch and we love the game. Recently my young teenage grandson spent his own money on the paid version so he could play with me and there is NO way to connect with him as a Scrabble friend on Origin. I even spoke with an Origin tech support person. He was ZERO help. They never even respond on line to any of the problems! This is the worst app I have ever used!! I give it 0 stars.

Love this paid version of Scrabble! Play with family & friends across Canada/US. With last update wouldnt load just kept spinning. Deleted app, restarted iPad, reinstalled app works great now! Latest update May20th? Corrected connectivity issue thanks!

I agree with the reviewer who questioned some of the denied words as well as some of the words the computer plays. In spite of that, the game is still fun, and its not as if this is tournament play.

Excellent game! The only thing missing to make it perfect is for the embedded dictionary to return the actual definition of the words searched, when they are valid. That way, we could learn new words as we play without needing to open a separate dictionary. In recent months though, the app seems to have lost the ability to recover after a temporary loss of wifi. No amount of closing the app or rebooting the ipad can get it back to working order. Anytime I lose wifi while playing, i end up having to delete the app and redownload it from the app store. It can get pretty annoying...

A few glitches here and there but its the game I love

This app freezes all the time! Quits playing a lot. I have paid app that I can hardly ever get into. Its always a gamble. I have a new iPad Air. Please fix this. I love to play Ive paid to play but can rarely play without problems. Whats up with this. I Hate new updated key board!! It doesnt do Spell check or anything else that helps type Correctly!!!! NOW the Chat doesnt work! Whats up with you guys that you cant get it together? There are always problems! It used to be pretty great, the more you update the worst it works

Please remove the newest update, and do it FAST! This super-sized board and zeroing in on the word I am playing is horrific. I want to see the entire board exactly as it was before. Why fix something that isnt broken?? I feel like scrapping the whole thing, now - this is awful! May 2017 UPDATE - So that was resolved -now the letters from the other players words keep flying in while your letter tiles you are working with fly off the board. I like to play around with my letters to attain the highest possible score. But now that cant be done because their words keep flying off and back in while my letter tiles fly back to my tile rack!!

May 29,2017: Deleted app to reinstall because it has not loaded for weeks. Well, now it wont reinstall or let me delete the partially loaded app. Problem with Scrabble, AGAIN! Wont load! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it wont complete download. Cant you repair or fix bugs before offering updates? Scrabble has more problems logging in, dropping games and connectivity issues with FB and the Internet the any app, especially one that cost (others were $.99-1.99) as much as Scrabble. Sick of the constant problems! Going back to the actually board game!!!

I enjoy the multiplayer functionality and my Scrabble skills have improved since getting this, but it has several glitches in the dictionary.

Fun game but needs to fix loading issues. Cannot play on phone then on tablet without deleting and reinstalling sometimes.

I love scrabble premium for ipad but i was very disappointed that since the last update on May 18th, i couldnt log in the game with fb - it was blank and all my games disappeared. I waited for a fb update, no changes, and no scrabble updates since then so I had to delete the app today May 28th and reinstall it but it looks like i had to pay again $13.99. Once i reinstalled it all my games came back but i think the charges went through

It is a good opponent.
