I LOVE this game, but I seriously HATE the new feature that replays the previous word on the board anytime you go to the dictionary. It’s unbelievably annoying.

It freezes up a lot and I have to delete it and reload.it only freezes up occasionally. Ditto again.

Says “Monday” is not a word.

Why cant you develop the app so that we can play off-line? I buy the apps so that I dont have to carry extra stuff with me on vacations, and dont always have or want connections to the outside world! Also, if we are buying the app, why are you forcing us to have annoying ads flashing on the screen all the time? Im going back to Solitaire!!

Scrabble Premium The app is well designed, and fun to play. However, Electronic Arts is gathering so much information on what you are doing -- even collecting all the *private* games you have played *OFF LINE* -- that we cannot recommend this app. It gathers location data, device ID, plants tracking cookies, and shares information with third parties! Worse, it does that even if you dont sign up for its on-line services or "play with friends". See section at end titled, "PRIVACY POLICY NEEDS OVERHAUL" There is also no way of opting out of most of this data collection -- of course, it should be opt-in to begin with, but EA has no business exploiting users info, habits, and browsing this way. We highly recommend reading their privacy policy. *You* may be comfortable with such data gathering, but we are not! See that section later on for the details. They really are being invasive! They are tracking you and your behavior. ------------ NOTE: EAs reply to this review was boilerplate pablum -- ignoring my observations about how invasive their policies are -- and sidestepping the problems involved with their collecting all sorts of game players data! (See below for specifics.) Simply replying that "we encourage players to read them" [the policies] is not being responsive and is hardly acceptable! They need to overhaul their privacy policies and actually respect their users. -------------- GAME FLAWS Before getting to the privacy policy details, its worth going over several game-app flaws. 1. Music and sounds are turned on by default. It woke my partner up when I first launched the game. Suggestion: have it off by default and simply have text on screen -- silently -- saying you can turn it on sound effects and music! 2. One is forced to go through a tutorial -- and it is irritating. There is a skip button (discovered later) at the beginning, but no way of exiting once you are trapped inside the tutorial. Suggestion: here, too, just a brief message saying tutorial available. 3. The game gets stuck at the end when player and computer have nothing to play! You have to go back and forth *three* times before it will finally conclude the game! 4. The app plays many unusual, even questionable, words and that detracts from the enjoyment. Suggestion: The dictionary should include definitions! That way, users could learn something along the way. 5. The Best Word feature is fine, but the animation is distracting and gets old fast! ------------------ PRIVACY POLICY NEEDS OVERHAUL Cannot believe all that Electronic Arts is gathering! Here are some statements from their privacy policy -- thats a misnomer, in any case -- its more like a "*Lack* of Privacy Policy"! Exclamation points added! "If you play a game offline, this data will be stored on your device and transmitted to EA when your device connects to the Internet." !! Can you believe that?! Thats none of their business! "We collect other information automatically when you use our products, including: IP address" !! Monitoring you. "Mobile and other hardware or device identifiers" !! Identifying your stuff. "Browser information, including your browser type and the language you prefer" !! So, collecting data on your browser and preferences, but also on your language! Is EA part of the NSA?! "Referring and exit pages, including landing pages and pages viewed" !! In other words, where you are browsing! "Platform type; Information about your media, device, hardware and software" !! "your hardware settings and components" !! Theyre really being invasive! ... "Details about what EA products you use and your use of them" !! "Use of them"?! and "Device event information, including crash reports, request and referral URLs" !! (Note error: it should be URLs.) Then, the coup de grace: "We also may collect and store information locally on your device, using mechanisms like cookies, browser web storage (including HTML 5) and application data caches." !! "We use cookies and similar technologies to help us understand things like what web pages, features or ads you view and what games you play." !! In other words, EA is tracking you, which is akin to stalking. NO THANKS!

Have been having a great time playing scrabble. And then. All of a sudden. My VICTORY PERCENTAGE disappeared never to be seen. Kinda takes the incentive to play scrabble against opponents away doesn’t it?????????

Works just fine, except for one thing: You can’t have multiple words across the board on the same turn. Last time I checked the rules for the actual game, it said you can have words all over the board in one turn, as long as it is connected to other words. If I try to do this in the app, it says “All new words must be connected to one another.” Please fix!

The ads were THE WORST I’ve ever encountered. So, it was either pay $9.99 (yep, you’re reading correctly) to get rid of an “ad per play” OR stop playing. So, I thought what the heck, it’s a well-developed game so I’ll pay $10...grrrr! Fast forward to today, when I start playing the same game on my iPhone-guess what? Here come the same nuisance ads again!! Duh my bad! This is Scrabble for iPad! Don’t be so GREEDY developers!! If you must discern between the devices how about charging LESS?! I seldom give reviews. But, you kept asking for a review. Well, here it is!

I have been using this app reliably for years until the latest update. It now crashes and I cannot access the app at all. Why keep trying to improve things that dont need improving. You are just asking for trouble.

Great! Now I can’t get into my game anymore! Any other bright ideas? “Can not connect to the server. Online games are unavailable.” So now what do I do?

I am a big fan but hate the tile selection algorithm which appears to try to force a tile exchange by dumping vowels (completely not random) into your tray. Still having random bouts of all vowels. Frustrating characteristic for an otherwise iaiiieu

It’s ridiculous that you can’t play your friends even though you both have Origin accounts. Why did they make it so hard to connect with others, unless you somehow connect via a computer? Defeats the point of the app. Idiotic.

Love the app, but with the new iOS update, it is harder to place the tiles on the board since the dock pops up every time you try to slide them up.

I love this game! Shame I had to re-install because of failure to connect message and I lost all my games and scores!!

If you have an iPad and iPhone with this app just be prepared to login every single day. This app does not save your login info.

We really like to play the game of Scrabble. Sadly, EA has made a mess of it over the years in the digital version. Last straw: we are not upgrading to iOS 11. Shortly after that came out, Scrabble refused to launch past a mandatory update window on both iPad and iPhone. We dont want an update! we just want to use the game the way it was before. Do Apple rules really allow developers to lock out customers who paid for their apps if they dont want to update? yuck! Goodbye EA. Goodbye Scrabble in the digital realm. Back to the wooden tiles if I can find them.

It worked fine on my iPad mini until just recently. Now the game wont even load onto the iPad. The icon is dark, and will not open the game, and I cant even delete it to start over again. The iPad is fully charged and was plugged in all night.
