Can’t connect to server

Update: after a few days of being locked out (and thus losing all my in progress games) I was suddenly able to play online again. Until last night. The latest update seems to have knocked me out again. This is very frustrating!

After playing this game for 3 years, the latest version was working for a couple of days before giving me a ‘cannot connect to server’ message. I tried clearing the cache, deleting and reloading the app, pretty much everything. My opponents are forcing forfeit on me and I can’t access the game to play! Disastrous. And the EA help feature doesn’t seem to yield any assistance on the issue. It’s really a shame - in spite of occasional glitches I’d enjoyed playing it over the years.
