Update a disaster

Ive had Scrabble HD for years and have never had a problem. Apparently the manufacturer decided to fix something that wasnt broken and updated the game as of today, April 10. Now it wont open. Dont bother buying this version until you know its been fixed.

Okay, heres an update as of August, 2017. The problems I referred to above have been resolved pretty well, so thank you Scrabble people. But I do have another complaint and Im wondering if others have had the same experience. It seems that one of the many "behind the scenes improvements" made by the Scrabble editors has changed my English dictionary by refusing to accept at least 1/3 of the previously accepted words. As a result, my latest version is not nearly as much fun to play. In addition, my husband supposedly has the same version on his Ipad but he has the full dictionary of acceptable words that I used to have. So apparently his Ipad was never updated (and I checked his App Store and it doesnt appear that there is any update currently available for his version). Whats going on?
